BASICS1 provides basic procedures that should be part of the compiler, or that are needed again and again.
- Messages: create, send, receive, retrieve
- API error codes
- Strings, e.g. f_left(), f_right(), f_wordwrap()
- Assertions, the name of the running procedure
- Objects, commands and environment variables
- UUID, MD5 and SHA1
Most Tools/400 utilities and service programs need BASICS1.
